CAIRNGORM BREWERY OVERALL CHAMPION BEER OF BRITAIN SILVER AND 2 CATEGORY GOLDS AT CAMRA CAMBRIDGE BEER FESTIVAL.
Cairngorm Brewery’s WILD CAT won Silver in the “Overall Champion Beer of Britain” competition last night along with Gold in the Premium Bitter category joining BLACK GOLD which won gold in the Session Stouts and Porters category. The second year on the trot for these 2 Category Golds.
There were 12 category finalists, 2 of which were from Cairngorm Brewery, the sole Scottish Brewery in the “overall champion beer of Britain” finalists.
“It is absolutely brilliant to win these awards but to win these 2 categories, 2 years on the trot along with similar wins in the CAMRA Winter Beer of Britain Competition, is a real testimony to the consistency and the quality of the beers that Liam Anderson, Head Brewer and the team are producing here in Aviemore”. Said Samantha Faircliff, MD, Cairngorm Brewery Limited.
Scotland CAMRA also awarded Black Gold in the Beer of the Year Competition as Champion Session Stout last year.

About Champion Beer of Britain
First taking place in 1978, the Champion Beer of Britain is one of the most coveted and well-respected cask beer competitions in the world. With the winner receiving UK-wide and international acclaim.
Judging for the competition takes two years to complete, starting with individual nominations from CAMRA members and tasting panels, then regional rounds. Each round of judging, including the final, uses a strict blind tasting policy, contributing to the award’s respected reputation of independence.
